2013 Chinese New Year Celebration

Year of the Snake

Snakes were born in the following years: 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013. Those born in the year of the snake are the wisest and most enigmatic of all. The Snake is the intuitive, introspective, refined and collected of the Animal Signs. They are attractive people who take cries with ease and do not become flustered easily. They are graceful people, exciting and dark at the same time.

Contemplative and private, the Snake is not outwardly emotional. He can appear cunning and reticent and works very modestly in the business environment. The Snake will plot and scheme to make certain things turn out exactly as they want them to. They are not great communicators and can become quite possessive when they set their minds on achieving the interest of a partner.

On February 9th, our school held our annual Chinese New Year Party. There was plenty of delicious food and drinks at our event. As a special treat, the Masters gave gifts to each student that attended the party. And what party would be complete without the traditional Lion Dance? The students enjoyed a Lion Dance performance, singing, and demos. Thank you to everyone that attended our party and brought delicious food for everyone to enjoy!  Here are some pictures from our party for you to enjoy.

In addition to the 21 students that moved up the rank to Kung Fu Student, we also had one student move up the rank to Kung Fu Warrior.  Due to her endless dedication to her training, this student is now American Shaolin Kung Fu's highest ranked student.  Words cannot express just how proud the Masters are of her.  To attain the rank of Kung Fu Warrior means a deeper level of understanding and dedication to your training must take place in order to succeed.

We would like to officially congratulate Jenny Pless on her achievement of Kung Fu Warrior!

Jenny, you are an inspiration to the rest of the students and have made your masters very proud.

Students, train hard and continue to focus all your efforts in your training when you are in class and you too will attain the rank of Kung Fu Warrior.

Thank you!
